In 2021, President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, which established Juneteenth as a federal holiday—the first new federal holiday since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day nearly four decades ago.

The White House Juneteenth concert was a celebration of community, culture, and music produced for the second year by Styled under The Burns Brothers. The event also leaned into the observance of Black Music Month by uplifting music that tapped into the soul of the American experience. The Juneteenth concert succeeded as a way to publicly recommit the executive branch to the ideals of liberty and justice for all.
